Kong Rong Shared Pears 孔融让梨
作者: 钱旭妍
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a boy named Kong Rong. He was very polite and clever. He had five elder brothers and one younger brother.
One day, Kong Rong’s father brought
home some pears and offered the biggest one to him. But Kong Rong shook his head and chose the smallest pear.
His father was surprised and asked, “Why didn’t you take the biggest one?” Kong Rong said, “I am younger, so I should eat the small pear. My elder brothers should have the big ones.”
Then his father asked, “What about your younger brother?” Kong Rong smiled and said, “I am older than him, so I should let him have a big one too.”
This story teaches us not to be selfish(自私的). We should think of others and be kind.
