Minibeast是指小型无脊椎动物。在自然科学课上，你学到过哪些呢？它们有的长得灵巧可爱，有的却不怎么讨人喜欢。以下我们介绍的这几种，有没有一款是你的最爱？

Bees live in a group called a colony（聚居地）. Each colony has one queen bee who lays（产卵） the eggs. Worker bees collect sweet juices from flowers to make honey.

Dragonflies have six legs but they cannot walk. They can fly very fast.

A ladybird is a small beetle（甲壳虫）. It has dark spots on its brightly coloured wing cases（翅鞘）. Ladybirds eat small insects.

All spiders have eight legs. They catch and eat small flying insects， like flies and moths（飞蛾）.

Flies have six legs. They have only one pair of wings. Flies can flap（轻拍） their wings very fast.

A snail glides（滑动） along the ground on one large foot. When danger comes， it can hide its soft body inside the hard shell on its back.

●Caterpillar 毛虫

A female（雌性的） butterfly lays eggs on a plant. The eggs hatch（孵化） into caterpillars， which eat the plant’s leaves.

●Chrysalis虫茧

Each caterpillar grows big and fat. Its skin hardens and it turns into a chrysalis（蛹，茧）.

●Butterfly 蝴蝶

After a few weeks， a butterfly climbs out. When its wings dry， it flies away.

蜜蜂

蜜蜂生活在一个叫蜂群的群体里。每个蜂群都有一个蜂后，专门产卵。工蜂从花丛中采集甜汁来酿造蜂蜜。

蜻蜓

蜻蜓有六条腿，但却不会走路。它们能飞得很快。

瓢虫

蜗牛用一只大脚在地上爬行。当危险临近，它能够将柔软的身体藏到背上的硬壳里。

蝴蝶的生命周期

毛虫

雌性蝴蝶在一棵植物上产卵。虫卵孵化成毛虫，它们吃植物的叶子。

虫茧

每条毛虫长得又大又胖。它的皮肤变硬，然后变成一个虫茧。

蝴蝶

几周后，蝴蝶就会爬出来。等它的翅膀变干了，它就会飞走。
