Extreme Sports Heat up the Olympics走进奥运会极限运动

Watching the Olympics is exciting. At the 2024 Paris Olympics（2024年巴黎奥运会）， we’ve seen four extreme sports（极限运动）. They are BMX riding（小轮车比赛）， rock climbing（攀岩）， surfing（冲浪） and skateboarding（滑板）. What do you know about them？ Let’s take a look！

Bicycle Motocross（小轮车，简称BMX） started in the US. Riders（骑手们） control（控制） bikes on a course（赛道） with ramps and obstacles（坡道和障碍物）. They jump high， turn fast and even spin（快速旋转） and flip（空翻） in the air.

Rock climbing is an exciting sport. Climbers have to climb a 15-meter-high wall. They use a harness（安全带） to stay（保持） safe. The world record for men is 4.74 seconds（秒）. For women， the record is 6.06 seconds. How fast！

巴黎奥运会女子速度攀岩决赛中，中国选手邓丽娟以6.18秒的个人最好成绩获得银牌，这也是中国队在攀岩项目上首次夺得奥运会奖牌。

Skateboarding is a new and cool sport at the Paris Olympics. Good skateboarders can jump high in the air. They can also go down stairs（阶梯） on their boards. It’s fun and shows a lot of creativity（创造力） and styles（风格）.

巴黎奥运会滑板女子街式赛（women’s street skateboarding）决赛中，14岁中国小将崔宸曦夺得第四，创下中国队在奥运会滑板项目上的历史最好名次。

Surfing is the most popular water sport in the world. Surfers（冲浪者） take their boards to the sea. They wait for waves（海浪）. When a wave comes， they will stand on their boards to ride the wave， show their skills（技巧）. They ride the waves with balance（平衡）. Surfing is not only about skills but also about connecting（连接） with the ocean（海洋）. Each wave brings a new challenge（挑战）.

中国队选手杨思琪在2024巴黎奥运会女子冲浪第二轮比赛中获胜，晋级16强。作为中国首位参加奥运会冲浪项目的运动员，这位来自四川凉山年仅15岁的中国姑娘，也是奥运冲浪项目中最年轻的选手。
