The Old Year has gone away，
He was a friend by every fire，
He was a guest to every heart’s desire，
And now he is not at all.
Time once torn away，
No voice can recall.
The eve of New Year’s Day，
Left the Old Year lost to all.
旧的一年已然远去，
每一处炉火，都有它亲密无间的记忆，
每一个人，都曾视它为尊贵的客人，
但它如今已姗姗离去。
时间只要被分隔，
语言便无法追记。
在新年到来前你总会看到，
旧的一年在路上挥手依依。
