Matthew Curtis and Machiko Ito

Curtis and Ito are both glassmakers. In their residency, Curtis will realize a glass structure of considerable scale by focusing on the development and refinement of a largescale glass membrane (膜), while Ito will increase the scale of her pieces and refine the details of her knitting structure.
Aya Oki, Brandyn Callahan, and Phirak Suon
November 1—30; Public lecture on November 21
Aya Oki’s work often looks organic and balloon-like because of her process of highlighting the materiality of glass. Designer Suon and glassblower Callahan will explore how digital manufacturing and 3D printing can influence how we produce and think about glass as a material.
