The fountains mingle with the river

And the rivers with the ocean，

The winds of heaven mix for ever

With a sweet emotion;

Nothing in the world is single;

All things by a law divine

In one another’s being mingle—

Why not I with thine？

See the mountains kiss high heaven

And the waves clasp one another;

No sister-flower would be forgiven

If itdisdain’d its brother;

And the sunlight clasps the earth

And the moonbeams kiss the sea—

What are all these kissings worth

If thou kiss not me？

泉水汇入溪流，

溪流汇入海洋，

珀西·比希·雪莱 （1792—l822），英国浪漫主义诗人、作家。雪莱毕生追求真理，勤于创作，为后人留下大量优秀的作品，如诗剧《解放了的普罗米修斯》、抒情诗《西风颂》、论著《为诗辩护》等。
