Thescientists in China collected samples3 from 15 patients undergoing heart surgery4.They discovered tiny pieces of plastic.

The scientists reported finding， “tens to thousands of individual microplasticpieces in most samples”. They may lead to cancer， cell death， and so on.Microplastics are everywhere. They make up 39 per cent of dust particles5 in ourhomes. Scientists say these tiny pieces are near-impossible to remove from thebody. They say it is important to limit the amount of plastic we eat or breathe in.
