A Day of Death and Ghosts
Look at these people. Do their faces look like skulls(头骨)? Don’t be scared(害怕的). These people are celebrating the Day of the Dead(亡灵节). It is a famous festival in Mexico(墨西哥). The festival is to celebrate death and ghosts(幽灵). It is usually on November 1 and 2.
On these days, people have a parade(游行). They wear costumes and paint their faces. Most people also build altars(祭坛) at home. There are candles(蜡烛), flowers, skulls and gifts around the altar.
