The Story of Wang Erxiao王二小的故事

江苏省扬中市实验小学一直致力于打造“书香校园”文化，用经典润泽学生的心灵，用书香充盈孩子的人生。为此，学校深入开展“红色经典”阅读活动，带领学生深情重温波澜壮阔的百年党史，赓续精神血脉，厚植家国情怀。最近，全校师生共同走近了抗日小英雄王二小，用英语剧的形式重新诠释了他那感人至深的故事，让我们一起去欣赏吧。

Narrator：Many years ago， there was a young hero， whose

name was Wang Erxiao. Please follow us to recall his unforgettable

（难忘的）story.

Wang Erxiao： Today is sunny. Mum， I want to herd cattle

（放牛）with my friends.

Mum： Ok. Don’t forget to come home early.

Wang Erxiao： Sure.

Narrator：Wang Erxiao plays with his friends happily. They

sing songs together and share their happiness.

Narrator：A few minutes later， some Japanese enemies break into

Erxiao’s house.

Enemies： You， open the door.

Traitor： Open the door at once. Japanese gentlemen are here.

Enemies： Wow， so beautiful！

Mum： What do you want？

Enemies： Don’t be afraid. If you tell me where to find the Eighth

Route Army（八路军）， I will not kill you.

Traitor： Tell us right now， or we will kill you all.

Mum： Sorry， I don’t know. Even if I know， I will never tell you.

Enemies： If you don’t tell us， I will kill you now.

Dad： What happened？ Calm down， Japanese gentlemen. I know

where they are. I can show you the way.

Traitor： Don’t believe them. They are so cunning（狡猾的）.

Dad： I will show you the way. You can trust me， but you must let

her go first.

Enemies： Let her go first？ No， I will kill her first， haha.

Narrator：The enemies kill Wang Erxiao’s mum.

Dad： Oh， no. Damn Japanese， I will kill you all！

Narrator：Erxiao’s dad fights against the enemies and the

traitor， but he was killed， too.

Sister： Mum， dad， what happened？ Please wake up. Mum，

dad， don’t leave us. Please wake up， we need you！

Mum： My dear daughter， run away！ Find your brother， go！

Narrator：Wang Erxiao comes back. He finds that his parents

are lying in the blood.

Wang Erxiao： Sister， what’s wrong？

Sister： The Japanese enemies kill our parents.

Wang Erxiao： Damn Japanese， I swear I will kill you all！

Narrator：Because of the death of their parents， the whole

family is in deep grief（悲痛）. Today， Erxiao herds cattle alone. He

feels depressed（沮丧的）.

Friend 1： Look， Erxiao is here.

Friend 2： Erxiao， how are you？ Don’t be sad. We are together.

Friend 3： Erxiao， come here， I have a gift for you. Please close

your eyes， it’s a surprise.

Wang Erxiao： Wow， is it for me？ Thank you.

Friend 3： I’m glad you like it.

Narrator：At the same time， the Japanese enemies and the traitor

are climbing the mountain. They are lost.

Traitor： I see some kids. We can ask them to guide us.

Enemies： Good idea！

Traitor： Hey， kids. Where is the Eighth Route Army？

Enemies： You’d better tell the truth or you will be killed.

Narrator：Erxiao’s friends are frightened.

Enemies： Can you help us to find them？

Friend 1： No， no， no.

Enemies： Show us the way， or we will kill you.

Friend 2： Sorry， I don’t know.

Enemies： Show me the way！

Friend 3： Please， no. Help！ Help！ Help！

Wang Erxiao： Stop！ I know the way. Let my friends go！ I can lead

you.

Enemies： Really？ Don’t lie to us.

Wang Erxiao： Don’t worry. Just follow me.

Enemies： Very good！

Wang Erxiao： It must be here.

Enemies： Where are they？

Wang Erxiao： The Japanese are coming. The Japanese are

coming. They are right here！ Go and kill them！

Army： Forward！ Forward！

Narrator：In order to defeat the enemies， Wang Erxiao

sacrifices（牺牲）his life. His sacrifice brings victory to the

Eighth Route Army.

Narrator：Though Wang Erxiao is only 13 years old，

he saves many people. When Tomb-sweeping Day（清明节）

comes， many people sweep his tomb and offer sacrifices. He is

one of the greatest heroes in our hearts. Moved by his spirit， we

should study hard for the prosperity（繁荣）and strength of

our motherland.
