There once was a boy who dreamed of going to the stars. From a very youngage, he was fascinated with the idea of space travel. Every night, he would go to hishouse’s balcony1 and count the stars that were in the night sky. Whenever he slept,he would dream of being with the stars. He would excitedly speak of his dream toother people and gush2 about what he would do once he achieved his dream to hisparents and friends. On some days, he would even go to the public library and spendhours reading about space. His parents and their friends would always laugh andjoke about“a child’s silly ambitions3”, even when he was right in front of them. Hewas young, then, and didn’t understand what they were talking about.

As he grew older, he started working hard and tried his best to get into agood university. He would often be found sitting at a corner reading about spacewhile others played happily on the field. He got bullied4 a lot because he lookednerdy5 and always kept to himself, and to others, and that was weird6. However,he ignored7 his bullies and continued on with his life. His bullies eventually lefthim alone when they realized he didn’t seem to care about them. He managed toget a scholarship8 to a university that focused9 on astronomy10 and science.

When he was 17 years old, however, an accident happened while he waswalking to the store, and he went blind. His friends told him to give up on hisdreams, because how could a blind person ever hope to go to space? But still herefused to give up, and continued to study to become an astronaut. No matter howpeople laughed at and mocked him or put him down, he still got back up. Heworked harder than anyone else.

He was put witha deaf girl and an autistic11 boy. The three ofthem became fast friends within minutes ofmeeting each other. And then, they set off to explore one of Jupiter’s moons. Theycame back bearing12 good news about the mission13. And with that, each of themwas given a medal of honour and proved to the world that they realized theirdreams despite their disabilities. The boy’s family realized their mistakes, andapologized to him. And at last, the boy, along with his newfound friends, provedlimitations do not stop ambitions.
