How to Overcome Your Laziness

Sometimes laziness happens when you don’t want to face something boring ordifficult. Other times, it might be because you don’t know how to do it and think itneeds a whole team rather than just you to finish it. And here are some useful tipsfor you to overcome your laziness.

1. Give yourself pep2 talks. You areyour own coach3. Tell yourself such thingsas“I want to do this. I am doing this now! ”“I can do this. I know it.”and“I can takea break when this is done.” Say thesethings out loud if needed. You’ll feelmotivated4 by giving voice to your actions.

2. Get real with yourself. Self-dis鄄cipline5 means doing what you should do,when you should do it, whether you feellike it or not. Stay off the couch until you’reready to take a break. Set a time whenyou’ll go back to your work. Don’t be toohard on yourself. And don’t end upwatching TV for two hours after 10 minutes’work.

3. Learn to reward6 yourself. You canreward yourself for the very small things youfinish or try. Rewards are the sweetest whenyou have to wait for them and when they’redeserved7. Keep most rewards simple buteffective8. Breaks are rewards, too. Leave reallylarge rewards for the great achievement9 orending. By using self-rewards, you’ll train yourmind to actively10 work before the reward.

Never even think that you’re lazy and good-for-nothing. You may not be a greatbusinessman, a great runner, a great cook, or even great at your job overnight. You’llfail and fail and fail. This is normal. This is good. This means you’re still going.Stay on track and don’t give up.
