Jungle Public School从林公立学校

There was a huge jungle and many animals lived there. The king of the junglewas a big lion. Whenever he roared1， the jungle vibrated². But all animals lovedhim. He was very clever and brave.

从前有一片巨大的丛林，许多动物住在那里。丛林之王是一头大狮子。每当它咆哮的时候，丛林就会震动。但是所有的动物都喜欢它，它非常聪明勇敢。

One day， his minister³ Tiger came to King’s castle and asked him to build aschool for animals in the jungle. Lion called his other members and asked them tohelp. Elephants， zebras， giraffes， crocodiles， rabits... all came.

一天，大臣老虎来到国王的城堡，请它为丛林中的动物建一所学校。狮子召集了其他的丛林成员，并要求它们来帮忙。大象、斑马、长颈鹿、鳄鱼、兔子……都来了。

Lion asked for help from all animals to build this school. At last an emptyplace was found and all animals were asked to bring stones， bricks and other thingsto the place. Many elephants brought water in the trunks⁴ and day after day theschool started to build.

狮子要求所有动物出力帮助建造这所学校。最后它们找到了一处空地，所有的动物都要把石头、砖块和其他东西带到这个地方，许多大象用鼻子运水。时间一天天过去，学校开始建造了。

After 3 months a beautiful school was built and all the animals were invited forits opening. All animals came in beautiful dress. Cats came in skirt， elephants insuit， lions in robe， zebras wore jeans. It was colorful everywhere. The jungle waslooking as if there was some festival. Lion took the scissor⁵ and cut the ribbon6 ofnewly built school. Every animal was so happy. They all went inside and tookpictures inside.

三个月后，一所漂亮的学校建成了，所有的动物都被邀请参加开学典礼。每只动物都穿着漂亮的衣服。猫穿着裙子，大象穿着西装，狮子穿着长袍，斑马穿着牛仔裤。处处五彩缤纷，这片丛林看起来宛如庆典来临。狮子拿起剪刀为新建成的学校剪彩。每只动物都很开心，它们都走进学校，并在里面拍照。

Tiger asked Lion who would be the principal of this school. Lion had no idea asno animal is learned7 to be a principal. So all animals were asked to give a namefor the principal. At last after every animal’s voting⁸， it was decided that theprincipal of Jungle Public School （JPS） was Fox.

老虎问狮子谁将成为这所学校的校长。狮子没有答案，因为没有一种动物博学到足以当校长。于是它要求所有动物都推荐一个人当校长。最后，经过所有动物投票后决定，由狐狸担任丛林公立学校的校长。

All thought that a clever animal should be asked to run the school. Liondesignated⁹ Fox as Principal of Jungle Public School. After that the lion calledeveryone to his castle for a great party. Animals had a great time there. Bearsdrunk beer， tigers had juice， elephants had bananas， rabbits had carrots...

所有人都认为应该请一只聪明的动物来管理学校。狮子任命狐狸为丛林公立学校的校长。之后，狮子召集大家到它的城堡里参加一场盛大的晚会。动物们在那里玩得很开心，熊喝了啤酒、老虎喝了果汁、大象吃了香蕉、兔子吃了胡萝卜……

In the party， Lion said to everyone， “My dear animals， you have all done agreat work to build the school. I am proud¹⁰ to be your king. Now I need you allto send your little kids to JPS.”Everyone said yes to what Lion asked for.

在晚会上，狮子对大家说：“我亲爱的动物们，你们为建造学校付出了辛苦的努力。作为你们的国王我很骄傲。现在我需要你们所有人把你们的孩子都送到丛林公立学校去上学。”大家答应了狮子的要求。
