3 While Türkiye is famous for its breakfasts， Van is the capital city that spreads the culture of breakfast in a specific way. The morning banquets in Van often contain up to 30 different dishes， and what is special is that they often have a heavy emphasis on the dairy produce from livestock that feed on the surrounding Anatolian Plateau（高原）.

4“When you come to Van， you must try your best to taste different kinds of small plates of local food，” says Aylin ？魻ney Tan， one of Türkiyes leading food writers. “That is what Vans breakfasts are all about. There wont be space for anything else on the table.”

5 In 2014， more than 50，000 people gathered at rows of tables in front of the Van Fortress， a building which was built in the ninth century BC， breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest full breakfast attendance.

6 Local authorities have even submitted an application to the UNESCO with the purpose of ensuring that the regions distinctive breakfast can be added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
