Hello， everyone. Let me introduce something about the puppet show and how Ilearn the puppet show.

The tradition of Chinese puppetry（木偶表演） rooted in Han Dynasty， has becomevery popular now. There are different kinds of puppet shows and Rugao wooden-rod puppets（杖头木偶戏）are the most common. Rod puppets are controlled by astick or wire attached to the puppet’s main body parts. It is the role of the puppeteer（木偶表演者）to make these forms come alive. Sadly， it is widely noted that lots of tradi-tional culture is disappearing along with the development of technology. So is the puppetshow. More and more people have realized the problem， including me.

It is not easy to learn the puppet show. Every puppeteer needs to hold up a puppetweighing about 8kg with one hand for at least 40 minutes. That’s why my right arm isalways stronger and bigger than my left one.During the performance， I use my right hand to manipulate（ 操纵）the woodenstick connected to the head， and control the rotation（ 旋转）， opening and closing ofhis eyes， eyelids and mouth through the mechanism. My left hand controls the hand leverconnected with the hand. At first， puppets and I are not integrated（融合）， and the puppet’saction is stiff（ 僵硬的）. However， I believe practice makes perfect. After hardand long practice， the puppet seems tobe given life.

In summary， it’s of great importance for us to appreciate the unique charm of this intangible cultural heritage（非物质文化遗产）.
