Hello, everyone. Let me introduce something about the puppet show and how Ilearn the puppet show.
The tradition of Chinese puppetry (木偶表演) rooted in Han Dynasty, has be-come very popular now. There are different kinds of puppet shows and Rugao wood-en-rod puppets (杖头木偶戏) are the most common. Rod puppets are controlled by astick or wire attached to the puppet's main body parts. It is the role of the puppeteer(木遇表演者) to make these forms come alive. Sadly, it is widely noted that lots of tradi-tional culture is disappearing along with the development of technology. So is the puppetshow. More and more people have realized the problem, including me.
It is not easy to leam the puppet show. Every puppeteer needs to hold up a puppetweighing about 8kg with one hand for at least 40 minutes. That's why my right arm isalways stronger and bigger than my left one.
During the performance, I use my right hand to manipulate(操纵)the woodenstick connected to the head, and control the rotation (旋转),opening and closing ofhis eyes, eyelids and mouth through the mechanism. My left hand controls the hand leverconnected with the hand. At first, puppets and I are not integrated (融合) ,and the pup-pet's action is stiff(僵硬的 ).However,I believe practice makes perfect. After hardand long practice, the puppet seems tobe given life.
In summary, it's of great impor-tance for us to appreciate the uniquecharm of this intangible cultural heri-tage(非物质文化遗产).
Thank you.guides, recruiting students to the public. They have been widely recognized and highlyappraised by all walks oflife for their diligence(勤奋),seriousness and studiousness(好学).I am one of them.
In July, 2018, I volunteered to become a member of Nantong Museum guides. Theteachers have arranged many interesting training classes for us, including“Public Plac-es and Etiquette (礼仪)”,“Falling in Love with the Museum”,“Mysterious CulturalRelics" and so on. For me, the most interesting class is“Cute Animals" by Dr. Ju. Afterthis class, I found the loveliness of animals, overcame my fear of them and strengthenedmy courage. These classes have broadened our horizon and enriched our knowledge.
After nearly a month of training and learning, I finally became a young guide inNantong Museum on July 30. I guided dozens of tours in the following year. What im-pressed me most was explaining to some grandfathers who were soldiers. I was verynervous. They smiled and looked at me, perhaps seeing my nervousness. They chattedwith me, curious about the young guide in museum. Then they praised me. I was very re-laxed and then happily finished my job. Finally, they took pictures with me.
This experience opened a window for me to know more about my hometown, un-derstand the importance of output, learn perseverance (坚持),and feel the friendli-ness of the world.
