When it comes to university sports facilities， many people believe that they should be for the exclusive use of college students and faculty members. But from where I stand， athletic facilities on campus should be accessible to the public beyond school hours.

Universities are duty-bound to provide certain services to the community. Opening up sports facilities for community use means opening up a wealth of opportunities for the local residents to stay physically active. By doing this， the university garners support from members of the local community. On the other hand， if the university opens up school playgrounds to the public， community members will have easy access to high-quality sports facilities， thus boosting their physical and mental well-being. Therefore it is a win-win situation for the university and the community if playground facilities are open to the public.
