创新导向,多元参与下的英语教学

《义务教育英语课程标准(2022年版)》(以下简称“英语新课标”指出,学生在英语学习过程中不仅要积累知识,还要注重知识的实际运用和创新。学习的最终目的是推动知识的应用和创新。通过开展创新活动,学生能够将所学知识应用于现实生活中,通过实践来强化英语技能,学会用英语解决实际问题,培养良好的学习态度和正确的价值观。因此,越来越多的英语教师开始注重创新活动的设计。但是,由于教师对创新活动内涵的理解存在偏差,教学实践中出现了活动形式单一、与现实生活脱节等问题
本文以译林版英语教材四年级下册Unit 3Myday“Storytime”的教学为例,探讨如何优化小学英语创新活动的设计。
一、教学采:活动应用的初见端倪
在Unit3Myday“Storytime”中,主角Mike通过自叙的方式,向读者展示了他一天的时间安排。在学生完成课文的分段复述后,教师安排了以下两项活动,旨在促进学生对所学知识进行创新性应用。
活动一:讨论与评价环节
T: Boys and girls,we're aware that Mike tackles a multitude of tasks daily.How do you perceive Mike's daily routine?
S: It'scommendable.
S2: He's quite occupied.
(Most students remain silent,unsure of how to comment,but after hearing a couple of responses,the teachercapitalizeson themoment toask)
T: Is this a sensible approach?
Ss: Indeed.
T:Time swiftly passes.We ought to manage our time wisely.
【分析思考】通过推理、辩论、批判性思考、评估、想象,学生能够深入理解主题内容,并在不同情境中习得语言运用的技巧。在这一环节中,教师通过提问的方式指导学生整合信息,对Mike的时间规划以及文章所传达的观点和情感进行深人的批判性分析,进而形成自己的看法,并将所学知识应用于实际生活。通过这种批判性分析,学生能够形成独立思考和判断的能力,树立正确的价值观
活动二:介绍与评价环节
T: Mike’s schedule is well-organized.How about yours? Could you describe your day to us?
Ss: Sure.
T: Consider your day and present it to the class. Everyone else,please payclose attention and use the phrase“It'sa...day”tocommentontheirday.
S.:Greetings,I'm ...This morning I...at...In the afternoon ... In the evening ... That sums up my
day. Thank you!
T: Thank you. How would you describe hisday? Isitexciting,hectic,orwell-planned?

【分析思考】在活动一结束后,学生参与"Myday”的分享活动。这一实践活动促使学生有效结合语言技巧,从多角度进行思考,实现自身语言表达能力、创造性思维和问题解决能力的发展。同时,通过分享自己的经历和评价同伴的经历,学生能够更深入地理解内容,进一步提高自身的语言表达和高阶思维能力。
二、磨课砺新:教学诊断的有的放矢
在课堂评估环节,讲授者在分享其教学策略时提出了一个疑问:“尽管本次阅读课涵盖了从回顾课文内容以加强知识点的记忆,到运用辩证思维进行批判性思考,再到将所学知识与生活实际相结合并进行创新性表达,每个环节都遵循了创新活动的教学原则,但为何学生在阅读后的互动环节中参与热情不足,且语言表达仅限于对课文内容的简单复述,缺乏个性化和创新性呢?”这一问题引起了笔者对创新活动的更深层次思考。经研究,笔者发现本节课在迁移创新方面存在以下问题。
1.教学流程不连贯
教师在设计创新活动时侧重理论,忽略了与学生日常生活紧密相关的实际情境的创设,导致活动与学生要形成的实际能力相脱节。在复习课文之后,学生要立即评价Mike的一天安排是否合理。对学生来说,由于缺少分析这一中间步骤,他们在评价时缺乏充分的依据,因此在做出判断时感到困难,从而难以将所学知识与现实生活相结合。这样就降低了学生探索的积极性,阻碍了他们对知识的有效迁移和应用。
2.教师提问浅尝辄止
在教学过程中,教师的提问仅限于知识的浅层,未能引导学生深人探讨知识的深层含义及其背后的逻辑。如在介绍"Myday"的环节中,教师过分依赖教材和固定的教学模式,未能结合真实生活情境对词汇进行拓展。这样教学忽视了学生的个体差异和兴趣,导致课堂氛围沉闷,学生缺乏学习积极性,进而影响了他们的个性化和创新性表达。
3.评价体系单一模糊

有效的评价对创新活动至关重要。但许多活动缺乏明确的评价标准和有效的评价机制,导致学生无法获得即时反馈和指导,无法及时认识到自身不足并加以改进,从而影响活动效果和学生的学习动力。如在本节课的创新活动评价中,教师仅将"It'sa...day"作为对学生一天安排的总体评价,忽略了对学生语言输出和表达在准确性、完整性、创新性方面的多维度评价,无法实现以评促教、以评导学。
三、设计重构:瞄准目标的有效载体
Step 1: Activity Categorization
T:We've observed that Mike engages in numerous activities throughout the day. Can you categorize theseactivitiesforus?Forinstance,whatdoeshedo forstudy,sports,or entertainment?
S1:He studies and plays sports.
T: That’s a start. Can we quantify his study time?How many hours does he spend on it?
:Hededicates his mornings to four academic sessions and his afternoons to two more,along with completing assignments. This schedule typically spans around 6 to 7 hours daily.
T:Excellent observation.Why don’t you transformthisintoavisual timetable?
(Students proceed to fill out a table organizing Mike'sactivities)
【设计意图】将Mike一天中的活动按照学习、运动娱乐和睡眠三个主要类别进行分类与时间统计,可以清晰地展示出他一天的时间分配情况。这为评估Mike一天的日程安排是否有序、合理、充实和有益健康提供了明确的数据支持。
Step2:Guided Discussion
T:Considering Mike is a primary school student, and given China's‘Five Managements’policy for students,what are your thoughts on his daily schedule? Isit orderly,sensible,vibrant,or overwhelming?Discuss with your neighbor.
(Students engage in a one-minute discussion)
S,: I finditquite orderly.
T:What makes you say that?
S,:He sleeps for ten hours,ensuring ample rest, which contributes to a disciplined and healthy lifestyle.
T:Aninsightful point!Adequate sleepisindeed crucial.What about your sleep routine?
S,:Isleep at9:30PMandwakeup at6:50 AM.
T:Perhaps an earlierbedtime might benefit you. Any other thoughts?
S2:I think it’s vibrantbecause he plays football and watches TV,which must make him happy.
T: Do you engage in similar activities?
:Notexactly,butIplaybasketballduringPE class.
T: That’s great. Daily exercise and breaks,like our morning and afternoon sun exposure, are essential.
S3:Ibelieve Mikewatchestoomuch TV,which isn't good for his eyes.
